The truth is, when it comes to the environment, there really is no such thing as a “good” car.

"Fact-based, well-researched, and excellent reporting. In my opinion, the more significant issues with EV's are: Environmental impact of rare-earth mining, health issues and abuses of third-world miners, and lithium battery recycling, possible vs reality. U.S. mining operations are developing much less environmentally and worker impactful extraction technologies. In addition, safer, more energy-dense non-lithium batteries are near market ready. Utility-scale off-shore wind farms, solar farms, and relatively clean and safe Thorium-based MSRs will soon be the nation’s clean-energy generators. This is likely to be in effect in 2-5 years. Can we wait to buy an EV? Depends on what works for you. For me, I’m waiting for longer-range EVs that use non-lithium batteries. "
