They are hell-bent on completely destroying our country and the planet, our only home. I'm utterly enraged. Thanks for your reporting, Emily and Michael.

Is there something we can do? Senate offices are closed during the weekend so calling senators won’t work.

Their social media accounts are still active and many of them are tweeting. I’d say flood the accounts of the ones most likely to flip and tell everyone you know to do the same

If it doesn't pass, the screams of rage from the white house will be heard all over Washington D.C. These senators who are on the fence need to seriously think of the people that voted for them, rather than any threats of being primaried by Donald Trump. Although Senator Collins of Maine is already in trouble with her constituents in her bid to win another term. I'm not sure about how popular Murkowski is in Alaska but she may be worried about her job as well.

And that is what will sway most of these republican senators when it's time to vote. Their jobs versus their constituents and the populace as a whole. For most of them, their jobs for now, mean more than doing the right thing by the people. They're banking that Trump will save them from losing their re-elections in 2026 if they stay on his good side. I don't think that will work out for them once the economy goes into a recession early next year but fear is a very motivating factor.

Said in a super sarcastic tone: "I can't wait to watch the evening news and Good morning America tomorrow and watch the outrage at the levels of nefarious corruption the media sheds a light on." Me in a normal tone, "Thanks for what you do Emily; keep up the good work."

Kill this bill in the Senate...just let it fester and starve to death. Kinda what we're doing to the Palestinian folk: man woman and child.

I've gotta say I haven't noticed much enthusiasm for "industrial" wind or solar or batteries among progressives or even climate activists. Even w/EVs, responses tend towards "I dunno, what about the lithium" or "I heard they 'use more energy to produce...'" But maybe that's just my milieu.

Somewhere else I read that these additional excise taxes are tied to Chinese connections. Cunning political move... "If you Senator want to repeal this tax you're a panda-hugger." Which speaks to the level of xeno- and sino-phobia out there.

Whatever "energy dominance" turns into, the FF flacks and tech bro nuke strokers have demonstrated media "dominance" which seems to translate into political influence these days.

I shared this post to my Bluesky account, not like I have a lot of followers, but I tagged Michael and got some reposts. It's a small gesture, but here's hoping it can help spread awareness.
