I like how Peter Lehner characterized the Trump administration's information purge and overall anti-climate-conscious policymaking as essentially more aggressive, but less competent. It seems emblematic of this second presidency as a whole.

Earth Justice is the best in the business of litigation. If anyone can, they’re the ones to be with. Im speaking as a plaintiff of a successful Earth Justice case with the federal gov. A commercial striped bass fisherman, recreational boat operator and the Ocean River Institute successfully sued NOAA to take an ecological mangement approach for setting Herring catch limits to leave enough forage fish for others including whales and striped bass.

By the time the democrats and the courts finally figure out how to do something about Trump, it will be too late. I keep saying he is blitzkrieging the government for a reason, Get everything done quickly before anyone can muster support against him, Once he has accomplished all he wants in the first one hundred days, it will take years to undo it all or fix what he broke. This is especially true of the environment. He doesn't care because there is no climate crisis as he has said. He also doesn't have any plan to help any people ravaged by extreme weather either. If they are loyalists, he may throw them a bone, but if not, their problems will be left to the state to take care of.

I don't see how this is going to Make America Great Again, not that it ever really was.

Well written Emily. It's extremely difficult to put into words what the effects of the information purge will have across the country and world. Beyond being "heated" about the consequences, you also feel just plain gypped when you get to the website and it's just a flashing error sign. They mind as well change the error signs to advertisements for the sponsors, Exxon, BP, etc.

Like mentioned, in addition to the websites themselves, and even if they are brought back, there is still the issue of all the employees being laid off. And I'm not sure a lawsuit can force them to rehire those employees.

Also it is interesting maybe that the EPA's climate resources are still up. I would have thought that would have been the first to go.

Thank you for the round up of news!

The plan is to break government so it no longer works for the American people and then to privatize everything and line billionaires pockets even more. Along the way, goodbye to programs to encourage incremental progress towards earth-aligned agriculture.

Thanks for following this, and for your critical work at this time of attack from within. Sadly, this purge (of research and information that we all paid for) is in line with the deranged insistence that reality is what he says it is. Control is the project, right down to controlling who gets what information. I hope the farmers get some relief but I despair the legal system moves too slowly for the destruction we face.

Trump today, said he would increase the tariffs on Canadian goods, for the same amount of retaliation tariffs. So, 25% + what ever Canada does. Yes the masses will be to broke to protest as they will be looking for food and shelter.

I Hope these lawsuits get somewhere. The courts seem so impossibly slow, as to be almost useless against the rampaging regime. My hope overall is that this reckless gutting of government seems like it can’t but touch everyone in the country in a few months time. Maybe that will change some minds and turn tide. As for these farmers I fear it will take some time to piece a functioning system back together.
