I had no idea about this, but I'm not surprised. There have always been different rules for the "top 1%" than there are for the rest of us.

Not the most uplifting (no pun intended) news to start the week, but I feel better knowing it than not. Thanks, as always.

Really good information here I didn't know about. In a lot of climate stuff, there is an escalating difficulty in various types of climate action, but increasing the jet fuel tax, for at least private flights, to something substantially higher seems very doable from a climate activism perspective.

This is a reason why I really appreciate your work!

Since my early days as a mom (taking the kids to plane-watch), I've long believed that we subsidized our local General Aviation airport. Oakland County International has always been a place where, despite touting the commercial cargo that supposedly comes in and goes out here, you can see private/corporate aviation taking place any hour of the day or night. Supposedly the 97th busiest in the nation, I'm betting a large portion of that "busy" is made up of private aviation. Not loving that my tax dollars go to finance the destruction of the world. :/

This is maddening! Thanks for reporting on it. As usual, the rich get richer and avoid paying their fair share. If the jet fuel tax increases, that would affect everyone else, too, right? Grrrrrr. Also, I’ve been to Nemacolin and it’s a weird place.
