Opening a newsletter from Heated is such a weird experience. First, you are excited to see what this week's innovative writing is about. Then, you remember why its called Heated as reality reminds you how dysfunctional of a world we live in.
But the UK and the EU seem to be willing to tell various USA DOE lackeys to go stuff it on their endless anti-wind and anti-solar blathering. One U.K. energy industry figure said of Acting Energy Assistant Secretary Tommy Joyce’s speech at a London energy summit: “That went down like a fart in a phone box.”
We've needed to direct a lot more resources of all kinds to inner city schools for a long time. I'm not sure I'll see that actually happen in my lifetime at this rate.
Great to see a story like this---that shows the effects of what fossil fuel companies are doing on children and communities. Keep walking that talk. Because that is what can cut through politics--because real stories about real people cannot be partisan.
By the way I've been trying to reach out to you for months about doing a guest column in Heated. Check out my substack at susanbinches.substack.com to see what I write about.
This will be my head canon going forward, too: Jalen Hurts as climate warrior. Also, as a Giants fan, it was a weird experience rooting for the Eagles this last Super Bowl, but as with the Patriots seasons before, someone needed to knock the Chiefs down a peg. If it had to be the Eagles, so be it.
Echoing what another commentor said, it is simultaneously great to read about this philanthropy and utterly depressing to read about money already appropriated to help people cruelly taken away.
And you probably already saw this but this is just another catastrophe of this admin. I expect nothing but the most bare minimum of report to comply with the law. A total loss for valuable climate science.
I don't know much about the Eagles or American football so much but I do understand the loss of all of the funding that Trump has shut off everywhere. It will take the courts forever to sort all of this out, meanwhile, kids across the country will suffer. I keep thinking about all of those schools in Idaho that have no climate control at all. Kids wearing snow suits in classrooms due to lack of heat systems. Roofs falling in and so forth. Idaho isn't the only state like this. And Trump wants to shut down the department of Education.

LOL thank you I’m sorry
Literally how it feels every time.
Hopefully this British football star's push doesn't end the same way.

Just forwarded this to an Eagles fan who immediately replied, "Yeah but Saquon stepped in it."

Or maybe he’s pissed that a forensic audit of 2024 Philadelphia election results shows evidence of vote manipulation?
