Dear Emily, Please share this with the Late Show with Steven Colbert. He has his own issues with CBS and I am thinking he would want to get this news out.
It would be great TV to see Emily interview David Ellison about his plans for CBS. No disrespect to Emily, but I'd love it if someone like Neil Degrasse Tyson was also a panelist, just to lend Emily a little "star power". That would be good TV.
It's just fucked. CBS is a one of the biggest news organizations in the country and they are under total control by conservative ideologues. It is clear CBS will be used to push for a dominant conservative ideology.
And to top it off those AI sites are popping up stealing articles from journalists like yourself leading to less eyeballs on genuine reporting.
Anyways hope you have a great Halloween despite all this.
We need to look at the broader picture. It's not just the elimination of certain parts of the news. It's the new agenda for corporate media in the U.S. altogether. These people like the Ellison's have one thing on their minds. take control of the largest cable TV networks and remake them into something that is not freedom of the press. Gone are the days of unbiased reporting in the U.S. by corporate media. Now, the poorest among us who can't afford to watch or listen to the news via the internet, will be subjected to whatever propaganda these billionaire tech people want to broadcast. It's a shame but it's more evidence that the United States is quickly heading for that authoritarian cliff.
What is wrong with these guys?! Guys meaning tech brats like Ellison. The march of improvements in semiconductor-based PV panels and increasingly energy-dense electrochemical lithium and sodium batteries aren't "techie" enough for them?
Can't grasp the concept that triple-glazing the planetary greenhouse with CO2 & CH4 might lead to overheating? Wikipedia sez he was "science student of the year" once at university before he dropped out. Did he skip heat transfer?

I just deleted the CBS app. Vote with your feet!!
Thanks for this scoop. It is pellucidly clear why Wholf's position was eliminated.
Walter Cronkite would hold his head in shame. It’s so sad to see the demise of CBS.
Thank you for your reporting. It's awful, but important for us to hear.

It's wild seeing CBS gut its legacy as a news organization in real time. I expect more and more canceled subscriptions as we go along.
FCBS.
We are a nation of greed, ignorance and stupidity…we will pay a price for this unless we fight back hard….
